Emergency Supports

Current Programs

1. Rapid Employment & Emergency Income Support

Sometimes the fastest way out of crisis is a paycheck—today, not tomorrow. Through partnerships with supportive employers, we help individuals who might be screened out of traditional hiring secure dignified work. Many of these candidates are people experiencing homelessness.

Our volunteers connect qualified individuals to open positions, bypassing barriers that often keep people in poverty. Whether someone can only manage a few hours a week or has lost their job due to unexpected hardship and wants fulltime employment again, we act as the bridge to immediate income.

Sometimes earning money is the emergency—and we’re here to make it possible.

2. Essential Warmth: Blanket Distribution

During winter cold snaps, survival often comes down to something as humble as a blanket. We collect military surplus gear, donated blankets, and decommissioned hotel linens—anything warm, clean, and capable of saving a life on a freezing night.

Our volunteers keep stacks of blankets on stand by, ready to distribute at a moment’s notice. It may sound small, but when the temperature drops to deadly levels, a blanket can be the difference between frostbite and a fighting chance.

Future Programs

1. Shuttle Service

Imagine a community where no one freezes on a sidewalk because they couldn’t reach a shelter in time. Imagine a person ready to detox who doesn’t lose their courage waiting for a ride that never comes.

That’s the future we’re building.

Our planned 7 days a week, year-round Crisis Shuttle Service will provide free transportation to:

  • Emergency shelters

  • Hospitals and medical appointments

  • Detox and rehabilitation facilities

  • Emergency responder headquarters

  • Legal court

We already have the volunteers ready to run this program. One warm ride at 1 a.m. can change everything.

2. Mobile Bike Patrol Program

Not all crises happen on city streets. Many unfold along trails, river valleys, transit lines, and other hard-to-reach areas where traditional outreach rarely operates. Our Mobile Bike Patrol Program is designed to reach people in crisis in these overlooked spaces.

Using electric bikes and small utility trailers, trained volunteers will deliver essential supplies—including water, food, first aid items, blankets, harm-reduction materials, and strategic referrals to partner agencies—along with meaningful human connection. This model is highly practical, expands our visibility, and allows us to reach areas inaccessible to vehicles while remaining engaging for volunteers.

With an estimated startup cost of only $20,000 for 4 complete units, this program offers a cost-effective way to extend outreach and ensure no one is left unseen.
