Food Programs

Current Programs

1. Family Food Hamper Delivery Program

Multiple times a month, our team collects donated food, sorts it, and delivers hampers directly to families in need across Edmonton.

Through private donations and partnerships with two major grocery chains, we receive excess inventory that would otherwise go to waste and redirect it into the hands of the people who need it most.

We also host public food drives for non-perishable items and work closely with FBC Food Rescue to strengthen supplier relationships and ensure efficient city-wide distribution.

Additionally, AATC and NWST help support the logistical costs of transportation and storage, allowing our volunteers to focus on what matters—getting nutritious food to vulnerable households.

2. Inner City Feeding Partnership Program

This initiative was created to strengthen collaboration among outreach organizations. We believe that nonprofits shouldn’t view each other as competitors—we strive to be allies working toward shared goals.

Through this partnership network, we have helped two similar minded local nonprofits grow their volunteer base while also welcoming new community members who share our mission. Every week many members of CCC can be found volunteering with other charities and nonprofits all over Alberta. One of these charities is a registered soup kitchen. We actively encourage our volunteers to engage with our partner organizations, helping them gain skills, expand their knowledge, and bring fresh strategies back into our collective efforts. Our entire team constantly remains community focused with a hunger for collaboration.

We are always making an effort to put on events that help outreach volunteers network and build relationships with members of other organizations that have similar goals. Our program thrives off of diversity!

Upcoming Programs

1. Mobile Soup Kitchen

Homelessness in Edmonton is no longer concentrated in a small geographic area. As living costs rise and street drug prices fall, new encampments and vulnerable populations are emerging far beyond the traditional inner-city core—often without access to reliable food sources.

Our Mobile Soup Kitchen will bring warm, nutritious food to individuals who cannot reach the limited existing service area. By meeting people where they are, we can build trust, form meaningful relationships, and help connect individuals to long term support. We are not here to enable but instead offer a path forward to healing. We find food is most often the best way to bridge the gap between our team and those in turmoil.

This mobile unit will also serve as an emergency food resource during environmental crises. When wildfires or other disasters displace families, we will be among the first to arrive with free, ready-to-serve meals. Our current design for our first unit is one of efficiency and speed. If we get news of a disaster, we want to be able to immediately jump into our truck and head to the scene with the most minimal amount of prep work possible.

Our three-phase plan is underway:

  1. Budget Development – Currently in progress with the support of a consultant and accountant.

  2. Fundraising – Targeted campaigns, and grant writing will follow once the budget is finalized.

  3. Acquisition & Launch – Purchasing a food truck, securing equipment and permits, and completing required training.

We already have a solid amount of suppliers committed to providing a large portion of the food required to serve regularly. As far as man power goes we have a well seasoned team of volunteers with certified food-handling licensing and food service experience.

Our goal is to have our first mobile kitchen operating by December 2026. So far we are hitting our targets and right on schedule. Thank you all who have supported us this far!

Our Commitment

We strive to adapt quickly, collaborate deeply, and work tirelessly to ensure that no one is left with an empty belly in Alberta. Whether through home-delivered hampers, community partnerships, or future mobile services, our mission is simple: meet people where they are and make sure no one goes hungry.
